The recipient of the 2021-22 Dr. Joseph J. Bulmer Award for Excellence in Library Research is Amanda Grace Witherell for her paper, “How Does Routine Caffeine Use Affect the Health of Its Consumers, submitted in fulfillment of requirements for English Composition I, under the direction of Assistant Professor, Sara Kennedy.

Witherell’s research paper, focusing on the routine use and over-consumption of caffeine, included a well-balanced combination of peer-reviewed articles in proper Modern Language Association (MLA) format. Amanda self-nominated her paper for the Award, followed by Assistant Professor Kennedy’s confirmation of a grade of “A.”
Witherell will be recognized in the commencement program, on a perpetual plaque in the Dwight Marvin Library Learning Commons, and will receive a monetary award administered by the Hudson Valley Community College Foundation.
